I began my teaching career in 1984 near Kansas City, Missouri, teaching 6th grade. I moved to Virginia in 1988 and began teaching in Prince William County Schools. I joined Lake Ridge Middle School as the math specialist in 2004. I currently teach math remediation to both 6th and 7th graders, and I am also enjoying teaching pre-algebra to 8th graders.
I'm married and have 2 daughters. One of them is a student at Hylton High School and the other is a student at The College of William and Mary. When I'm not teaching, I like to walk with my 2 labrador retriever dogs, cook, play the piano, or read the newspaper or a good novel. I also love shell hunting at the beach, hiking in the woods, and visiting historic sites or museums. One of my favorite adventures this summer was visiting Italy. As you can see from my picture, I tried to straighten up the Leaning Tower of Pisa! I wonder if the architect needed better math instruction to make that tower stand up straight? :) I love math, teaching, and all the wonderful students at Lake Ridge Middle School. Go Wolves! | |
